Christmas is again knocking on the door and again it is time to spread the wings of your imagination and write the best short story ever for our annual short story contest. If you are a Meridian 22 student don't waste time but get down to work now.
Your Christmas short story/stories should either begin or end with the following sentence:
'Help me!' shrieked the voice in the chimney.’
Write your 400-500 word story in any genre – crime, fantasy, mystery, romance, horror, science fiction, etc. The text should be in Times New Roman, 12-point, 1½ spaced.
The deadline is 4 p.m. on Monday,
22 December 2016.
The competition entries should be e-mailed at: highschool@meridian22.org, as an attachment (Word - .doc, .docx) and Subject: Christmas Short Story Contest 2016. The message of the e-mail should include the title of your short story, your name and class. Your names will not be disclosed to the awarding committee before the selection of the winners.
Do not send the stories to your English teacher!
The prizes will be awarded at the Christmas party by Santa and/or his helpers, whoever they might be this year J
